I’m so excited to share with you all Bill and April’s beautiful and modern romantic wedding from this past October! This wedding day was full of so many unique details that told the story of Bill and April, and seeing it all come together after over a year of waiting was so special!
I will still never forget the first moment I met Bill and April over ice cream, and feeling that instant connection of friendship. April has the most infectious smile and personality, and Bill is so fun and down to earth. I’ve had such an incredible time getting to know them, taking their engagement photos, meeting their loved ones, and finally witnessing them come together as one on their wedding day.
April had the most fun bridal details from a stunning bridal clutch to the most gorgeous shoes from Bella Belle. Bill’s wedding band was unlike anything i’ve ever seen with men’s jewelry! The unique design and shape of his band was so interesting and fun to photograph! One of my favorite elements of the day that made April and Bill’s wedding all that more unique was a custom made seating chart where each table was assigned a different soccer club. Also, seeing an adorable figurine of their sweet dog, Lupo, on the cake table made my heart burst! (Dog details are just the best!) The mixes of greens, dusty rose and navy perfectly combined created a beautifully modern take on romance. All of these details put together created an atmosphere so unique and personal to them, and those details are always my favorite.
The ceremony took place at St. Ann Catholic Parish in Coppell. The church was so stunning and it was the perfect setting. We took photos out in their beautiful courtyard and we had the most gorgeous golden hour sunset come through the iron gate. My photographer heart always melts when there is the added bonus of beautiful light with an already beautiful couple! Bill and April’s bridal party of friends and family were all so incredibly wonderful and made everything go smooth sailing. Definitely one of my favorite groups i’ve worked with!
Their reception took place at The Laurel in Grapevine. They had string lights hung up outside to create an inviting outdoor atmosphere for guests to enjoy, as well as a photo booth for a fun way to log their guest book. Another favorite detail of mine from the reception was their new last name in big lit up letters. These are always such a wonderful addition to any reception, and it makes for an even better background for dancing photos.
Now something even more special that I haven’t mentioned yet is April’s family’s Laotian nationality. Halfway through the reception April and Bill changed into their traditional Laotian attire, and let me tell y’all they looked AH-MAZING! The newlyweds were then reintroduced to the reception and made their way to the dessert table. After they shared a slice of tiramisu, they headed to the dance floor for a traditional Laos dance called Lam Vong.
Lam Vong is a slow revolving circle guided by simple footsteps and harmonious, graceful hand movements. This traditional dance requires no contact, and it was so cool to see everyone join in! April and her Dad also performed the Lam Vong together for their father-daughter dance, and these photos are some of my favorites from the night! I absolutely LOVE seeing traditions come alive and shared together at weddings!
After a private last dance and sparkler exit, the most perfect night came to an end. I can’t even begin to articulate what a joy it was to be a part of this day, and know that all of these beautiful details, unique elements and traditions will be shared for generations. I’m so grateful for such an incredible team of talented vendors who worked so hard and helped make this day so perfect! This wedding was by far one of my favorites, and I wish I could hit the rewind button and do it all over again!
Bill and April, thank you both so much for allowing me to commemorate one of the most special days of your lives! Your friendship and kindness bring me such happiness, and i’m so honored to have you both in my life. I look forward to sharing more memories with the two of you in the future! And definitely, without question, more ice cream dates. 😉
xoxo Alyssa
