Wedding photography is my bread and butter. Throughout the eight years that i’ve been a photographer I’ve learned that wedding photography is where my heart lands true. The romance, the style, and the ultimate commitment is something I find to be so beautiful and special. Usually I am off doing wedding photos at a venue somewhere, but this time I got to shoot in the heart of downtown Fort Worth for a fun and unique opportunity.
Mirelis and Andrew got married back in April with a tented backyard wedding. Just their closest friends and relatives there to celebrate them. Mirelis told me they didn’t really have any wedding photos taken, so naturally that’s where I come in. I was so honored and thrilled Mirelis asked me to commemorate this exciting time for her and Andrew as newlyweds with a wedding-style portrait session.
Now if you’re from Texas then you’re plenty well-aware that this has been one of the hottest summers EVER! We can never seem to catch a break from these 100°+ days, and haven’t had a drop of rain in over a month. We are certainly used to the heat, but not like this! Andrew and Mirelis showed up to their session dressed to the nines! Like, smokin’ hot! Hotter than this Texas sun. And despite the despicable heat, Andrew and Mirelis continued to look miraculous all throughout their session. That’s how smokin’ they were!
Strolling the streets of downtown Fort Worth in the brutal heat and these two looked so calm, cool, and so well put-together. Looking through their gallery you can’t even tell it was 104° outside! Mirelis and Andrew came prepared with tons of cold water, cool wash cloths and survived and killed their wedding session! They showed this Texas heat who’s boss and came out on the other side with no red faces, and for Mirelis no running makeup.
Mirelis and Andrew, thank you so much for allowing me to preserve such a special time in your marriage! On a personal note I know what it’s like not to have any wedding photos (all I have from my day is a selfie and detail photos I took on my coffee table!) so I sincerely commend the two of you for taking the time to have your wedding portraits done. You both looked so incredible, and I still can’t get over how much I love the glasses and the sheer gloves! I absolutely cannot wait to see you two again!
xoxo Alyssa
