Rain thudded against the rooftops, wind swished through the trees as the leaves went flying, and the grass became more flooded with every drop. It was a summer night in June, the sky was black, and it was a bit unusual to be getting such weather not during Spring. Thankfully, this was the night before Hunter and Paige’s maternity session. Hunter and Paige were coming to Keller from Abilene, so we only had one opportunity for their session. The storm from the previous night left their location as green and lush as ever, but a bombing 60% humidity, and boy could we all feel it.
But through the humidity and warm temperature there were so many laughs and stories exchanged along the way as we all shared a walk in the park. We talked about how different and strange Paige’s doctors appointments have been during the midst of a global pandemic, Hunter’s job at the fire department, learning left from right, hoping spiders weren’t crawling on us, and reminiscing my own growing baby bump when I photographed their wedding in the fall of 2018. Now here we are twenty months later, and it’s finally their turn.
I remember how excited I felt when I found out Paige was pregnant. It is so special to walk with couples along the most precious moments of their lives. It seems like yesterday I road-tripped to Abilene and did their engagement session at the fire station, creating hearts out of giant water hoses. It warms my heart when I see the start of a couples’ love story blossom into growing their own family.
Hunter and Paige, thank you so much for allowing me to photograph the most beautiful moments of your lives. I have enjoyed every moment along the way, and I can’t wait to share more in the future. I have loved getting to know your friends and family over the years, and I am so thankful you have chosen me to be a part of documenting your legacy. That baby girl is so lucky to have the two of you as her parents, and I can’t wait to meet her when she arrives in this big world. Congratulations!
