Auden Turns Five | Wild Oak Studio | Roanoke, TX

Welcome to another addition of the birthday series! My baby boy, Auden, turned five years old back in February, and as in true second child fashion, I am just now getting around to writing his blog post a mere three months later. Oopsies.

We headed to the stunning Wild Oak Studio in Roanoke, TX for his portraits, and the results I get in this studio are always superb! Such excellent lighting and many magnificent props to choose from. This is one of my favorite locations to shoot at indoors. I look forward to photographing more clients here in the future!

Last year I photographed Auden’s fourth birthday portraits outside since we miraculously had 60° days in January! They were so much fun and a really neat opportunity for me to test my creativity. While this year was more simplistic, I love capturing new elements of my son’s personality. He wore his favorite color and his favorite shoes, and I feel the contrast of the black within the white studio really allows him to pop! (Not that he needs any help with that- his personality and smile already gets him enough attention!)

Since Auden’s birthday is two days before Valentine’s Day, I decided to do some Valentine themed photos as well since Wild Oak Studio already had the set up. These photos were so much fun to take (especially since Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday!) Photos in black for Auden, and Valentine photos for Mom. Everyone wins!

I have been trying my hardest to soak up every single moment I have with Auden before he goes to kindergarten this August. It’s so crazy to believe that my days as a stay at home Mom are coming to an end. After this it will be drivers tests and first dates and graduation and I am not ready!!!

My boy Auden loves all the villains in every movie he’s ever seen, giving super big bear hugs, donuts, constantly wearing black/long sleeves even when it’s hot outside, and race cars. He is feisty, fierce, so hysterical, charismatic, bold, and never afraid to tell you how he feels. He certainly keeps me on my toes, but underneath that eccentric soul lies a deep heart that is so loving and sweet.

Happy fifth birthday, sweet boy! I can’t wait to see all that you will learn and do in the coming year ahead!
