Well folks here we are. It’s March. I don’t know about you, but I for one am so ready for the warm weather! Winter is usually the slowest time of year for me, but this one has been a bit busy! I’ve basically been glued to my desk chair the past few weeks editing my days away, so today I am giving myself a round of applause for completing this blog post within one month of my son’s actual birthday! It’s important to celebrate the little victories too, right?
This past February my son Auden turned two, and every year for my kid’s birthdays I love to look back throughout the year and see all the fun things we did, all the things they’ve learned, and of course all the funny things they said. This year was certainly different to say the least, spending the majority of our time indoors and all, but looking back we’ve gotten to have so much time together as a family and create really fun memories within the walls of our home.
This year with Auden consisted of many great moments, like watching him eat spaghetti for the first time, dance to Billy Joel, and see the joy in his eyes when he saw Santa Claus. I remember how much he hated the sprinkler in the summertime, how he always points up at the sky when he hears an airplane, giving him haircuts at home, his first Easter egg hunt in the backyard, as well as his first of many trips to the beach. Auden loves Mac and Cheese, grapes, baby shark (unfortunately), his Greggo, doggies, and throwing as many objects as he can across the room throughout the day. This kid certainly keeps me on my toes, but I love spending my days with him taking walks in our neighborhood, and reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar 100 times a day.
I took Auden back to Pink Pineapple Studios for his birthday portraits again this year, and he was happy for about 60 seconds before the pouty faces and tears ensued. But as long as I get one good smile out of him I am a happy Momma! The rest will be great for his graduation and wedding day slideshows. 😉
To my son who will read this one day: I love you so much and enjoy watching you grow. You are so feisty, sassy and funny, and you make our lives so much more fun! Happy second birthday!
XOXO
Mommy
